1. She initially joined the army in order to pay for her education. Did her term as a field medic. She joined up at 17, her service term lasted six years with a total of 3 years in active combat zones. (For a definition of active, there wasn't much hot combat.)
2a. She finished her graduate studies once she was out of the army in order to become a nurse practitioner, which took around two years. Afterwards, she got a job with a private practice out in a rural town. The clinic takes patient confidentiality is taken very seriously and there have been patients who are admitted, no questions asked. Hospice care is offered.

3. The eldest of two, she has a younger sister by the name of Amelia. Her mother, Helen, is a divorcee. Her father went off to who knows where. It was messy, near the end. She was 8. Amelia is younger by 2 years.
